Tomahawk Cowgirl Steak

Tomahawk Steak


  • 1 Grass Fed Beef tomahawk steak. 
  • 1 tbsp of sea salt
  • 1 tsp of freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp of fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp of smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp of ground coriander
  • 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of butter, optional


  1. In a small bowl, mix together the dry rub ingredients (salt, pepper, rosemary, paprika and coriander). Rub into the steak, making sure to cover all sides. Set aside in the refrigerator for 2 hours. 
  2. Preheat the grill to medium heat and oil the grate. 
  3. Use the remaining oil to brush lightly on both sides of the steak. 
  4. Place the steak over direct heat and cook for 10 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 130 degrees F for medium rare. Remove from the grill and let rest, covered,  for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, turn the grill to high heat. 
  6. Return the steak to the grill and sear for 45 seconds per side.
  7. Remove and serve. Place butter on top of the steak and allow it to melt.
